I'm living in Matawan, NJ, and a graduate of the University of Michigan Business School. My first experience with teaching happened when I signed on as a member of the Peace Corps in 2005. During that time, I was involved in teaching basic accounting skills to the members of a coffee cooperative in Panama as well as teaching English to students at the local high school.After my commitment to the Peace Corps ended, I took the SIT TESOL course in Costa Rica. Completing it gave me the tools I needed to be even more effective in my duties as an instructor. I taught English at a high school in Costa Rica for one year before moving to Colombia. I lived there for over five years and am fluent in Spanish. I have completed a course in teaching Spanish to Foreigners offered by the University of Antioquia in Colombia.When working as a tutor, I design lessons to meet my students' unique needs. I make a point of assigning tests to ensure that a pupil understands what we have been working on together before moving on to the next topic. I have particular experience in the Spanish language and Latin American culture. I'm available for assignments in English and Spanish 1-4, Languages, and ESL/ELL.My interests outside of work include tennis, swimming, and yoga. I also enjoy reading literature that increases my understanding of the world.
